Sinigang: Moral Values

Moral in the stories are the lessons that we can get and be used in our everyday lives. It gives us a reflection on the way we think and act. Moral is a signicant element of a story because it can give us a different perception in life. In the short story, Sinigang by Marie Aubrey J. Villaceran, I learned various moral that changed my perception in life.

One of the moral that I learned while reading this short story is to be faithful. Not only in a romantic relationship, but also to your family. Trust is one of the easiest way to obtain but it is the most thing that is hard to maintain, especially if you one's broken a person's trust. It can not be easily gained again. Because it's difficult to trust again to someone who fooled you once. Thus, never cheat on someone whom you truly love. Treasure then and don't ever break their trust on you. Be faithful and show them your sincerity.

The second moral of the story that I learned is learn to admit to your mistake and apologize right away. Just like the father of Liza, he immediately admit to his mistake and apologized to her daughter. Though, I do not promote the wrongdoings of the father because cheating is cheating and no reason can justify this act. Moreover, Liza as a Papa's child had been broken-hearted because of the affair that his father has. the bond that they shared had been broken and cannot go back again to what it used to be. Thus, learn to admit your mistakes and repent to your sins. But as much as possible, do not commit any sins especially if it will affect the relationship that you have with your loved ones.

Lastly, I learned that family is family. No matter what situation you are in or if the parent that you deeply loved commit a mistake to you, you can't deny the fact that they are your family. You share the same blood and most importantly, you have the deepest and intimate relatioship among others. Hence, the story let me realize that we must move on and continue moving forward to the greater opportunities that life will offer. Don't be stucked on the past, just let it go. Because as times goes by, family is what you all need. It will be your saviour, protection, and love from all the negative situations and struggles in life.
